Step into a world of dramatic flair with our January concert - a theatrical feast for the senses, featuring music from ballet, theatre and film.
Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol, vividly brings to life the rhythms, harmonies and dances of Spanish carnival, while Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suite written as incidental music for the play of the same name transports us to the
evocative landscapes of southern France, full of romantic and dramatic tension. The creation of the universe unfolds in a captivating orchestral drama with Milhaud’s music from his ballet, La Création du Monde.
Finally, Gershwin’s An American in Paris will sweep you into a vibrant,
cinematic adventure through the bustling streets of the City of Light.
